Dear Family and Friends,

We hope you are all warm and toasty this time of year and enjoying the holidays. John, Carob (the dog), and I are doing just fine this holiday season. It’s just been nice to kick back and stay where it’s warm. I usually try to do this letter chronologically so here goes. As many of you know last December we moved from Anchorage, Alaska to Omaha, Nebraska. We’ve been here a year now and we seem to have settled into the area.

I am now working at Offutt Air Force Base just south of Omaha. I keep myself busy during the week flying on RC-135’s. I missed flying while I was in Alaska…and the extra pay. Currently I have 16 months left in the Air Force and then I plan to get out and go to college full time to earn a degree in nutrition.

John was disappointed to leave Alaska. He and I both left behind friends that we care about very much. He also left behind his job and had to start all over again. After three months of job searching he landed a contracting job that eventually led him to Ameritrade where he was hired on full time as a computer programmer. He’s doing well now according to his boss and he’s become the go-to guy whenever anybody wants anything done.

The big news this year is we bought a house. It’s a 100 year old farmhouse located southwest of Omaha in a town called Papillion. It’s needs a little fixing here and there but we’re looking forward to putting ourselves into this house over the next few years.

Besides a few trips to Lincoln this year and a camping trip ( the dog and I slept in the car because it was too cold) that’s about all we’ve been up to. Again I hope you are all happy and full of good cheer.

Happy New Year and God Bless!
