Dear Family and Friends, Emily is really coming along. It seems that every day she is trying to do something she couldn't do the day before. I remember it was about Veteran's Day weekend that she just started babbling and has been very talkative since then. She'll smile beautifully at anyone that smiles at her. About two weeks ago she became fascinated with a bunny toy that hangs over her playmat and swats at it all the time trying to grab him. The neatest and greatest thing now is that she has discovered her hands and is trying to reach for and grasp objects in front of her. She's also trying to sit up...she gets an ab workout doing that. Our home nurse Mary Fran came around to visit last Tuesday and we took a little 4-month growth and development quiz. At three months Emily is ahead of all her milestones. She's especially ahead in communication (smiling, laughing, babbling, eye contact) and gross motor development (holding her head up, using her hands, bearing her weight when she stands). We are so pleased with her especially since we have not pushed her in any of these areas; she's doing it all on her own. She's becoming a little more independent from mommy and daddy in that she's more content to play on her own, whereas before it seemed that our presence was required for her to be at ease. I also think that daycare has helped her get ahead on her development because she sees the other kids up moving around and she wants to do whatever they are doing. We really adore her and hope that she continues to amaze us. May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. There's new video at www.pupok.com Love, Kim
